Starting January 2025, we will be publishing articles focused on didactics and performance in martial arts teaching-training, with a technical and scientific approach. These articles will be aimed at instructors, students, and martial arts professionals who wish to improve their knowledge of teaching methods and the performance factors that influence martial arts training.
What do these articles cover?
The articles will cover two key areas: didactics in martial arts teaching and physical performance in training, applying principles from the Sciences of Physical Activity and Sport.
1. Didactics in Martial Arts:
This section will explore the best pedagogical strategies for effectively teaching martial arts. We will discuss teaching methods based on principles from the sciences of physical activity and sport, as well as the progression of learning, adapting techniques to different skill levels, and training planning. We will also detail how to use feedback, error correction, and motivation to optimize student learning.
2. Performance in Martial Arts:
This approach will focus on the physiological factors affecting performance in martial arts. Topics such as exercise physiology, physical conditioning, planning, and other aspects necessary for executing techniques with high effectiveness will be addressed. Additionally, training strategies will be discussed to improve practitioners' ability to maintain top-level performance, along with general aspects such as injury prevention and rehabilitation.
Why is this approach important?
Didactics and performance are fundamental aspects for the progress of students in martial arts. Teaching based on the principles of physical activity and sport sciences ensures that students not only learn the techniques correctly, but can also execute them effectively and without the risk of injury. At the same time, optimizing physical performance through specific training allows practitioners to reach higher levels of effectiveness in their disciplines.
In summary, these articles will provide a scientific and practical perspective on how to improve teaching and performance in martial arts, based on the Sciences of Physical Activity and Sport. Through these articles, I aim not only to offer technical and up-to-date information but also to share my personal experience gained over more than 30 years of practice and teaching.
My goal is to provide useful tools and practical approaches that will help martial arts students and professionals optimize their training and performance, contributing to the improvement of their overall performance. I hope these articles serve as a guide and source of inspiration for all those seeking to improve their martial discipline and take their practice and teaching to a higher level.
