Seibukan Budo [SBIF] in Solidarity with those in need

During this time of Lent that begins today, we remind our members that Seibukan Budo [SBIF] actively participates in community projects to improve the conditions of those who have faced hardships, providing support through solidarity initiatives.

As part of our commitment to the values of Budo, we promote helping those in greatest need, fostering empathy, respect, and discipline not only on the tatami but also in society. We invite our members to take part in charitable actions, donations, and volunteer work, thus strengthening the spirit of service and compassion that defines our community.

Since its foundation in 1987, Seibukan Budo has carried out various solidarity actions:

  • Solidarity classes – We have subsidized memberships and offered free training, financial aid, and material donations to support the development of martial arts in Morocco (1994), Dominican Republic (1997), Cuba (2003), Algeria (2008), India (2018) and Uruguay (2019).
  • Collection of food, clothing, and toys – We have contributed to aid campaigns for people in vulnerable situations due to war in Chad (1987), Djibouti (1993), Zaire (1996), and Ukraine (2014), as well as for Spanish citizens in need.
  • Support for victims of violence – We have provided subsidized self-protection counseling and self-defense training for women who have suffered assaults or faced dangerous situations.
  • Fundraising for natural disaster relief – We have made financial contributions in response to the Lorca earthquake in Spain (2011), the Fukushima tsunami in Japan (2011), the Taroudant earthquake in Morocco (2023), and the Gota Fría floods in Valencia (2024).

May this time of reflection and renewal inspire us to continue working for a fairer and more supportive world, where Budo is not only a martial practice but also a way of life that drives us to help others.
